4 Blogs One Night- Part Four

The Final Blog

This is my final poem,
its the fourteenth and my last.
And since it's 1 am,
I'm going to write it fast.

I really enjoy rhyming,
it really makes me smile.
But due to the present timing,
this poem won't last a while.

My eyes are slowly closing,
my brain is shutting down.
My mind slowly imploding,
my smile looks like a frown.

For the muscles in my face,
grow weaker every minute.
In a race against sleep depravity,
and I don't think I can win it.

And as I slowly nod off to sleep,
as sleepiness has won the fight.
I'll close my final poem,
With I love you..and goodnight.

Stride Gum

You say you last forever,
that your flavor will always endure.
But your lies aren't even clever,
and your ambitions are far from pure!

You've tricked so many people,
to the masses you have lied.
When you say a single piece of gum,
will keep my taste-buds occupied.

For as I sit here chewing,
my gum has started to taste like flour.
Your slogan you are abusing,
for I've been chewing less than an hour.

For all the flavor in my gum,
has quickly disappeared.
And since I enjoyed the berry taste,
my eyes have watered and have teared.

And as the population in my pack,
has fallen to zero in just one day.
I hope your CEO has a heart attack,
Stride Gum I think you're gay.

The BBQ Fest

I could not wait as I drove down the street,
two blocks away lay great food to eat.
There'd be mutton and corn-dogs and real lemonade,
cheap trinkets to win and fun games to be played.
There'd be soft music that gently flows into your ear,
and emo-clad bands with lyrics evoking fear.
There'd be carnival rides jam-packed with bodies,
and drunk individuals stuck in the porta-potties.
There'd be bikers riding high atop their steel steeds,
with a reputations for never committing good deeds.
There'd be an assortment of people walking to a fro,
with so many weirdo's it'd be like a Freak Show.
But then I remember its the Barbecue Fest,
it's the same every year with the same lack of zest.
Which makes me wonder why I'm even going to the place,
if its even worth the bother of locating a parking space.
But then again it only happens one weekend each year,
so I guess I'll be going..even if it sucks rear.

Raps are really no different then poems, minus the deeper meaning and proper vocabulary. So here is a rap I wrote a few weeks ago, that a lot of you have already heard. However, it can be read slowly in poetic context so I'm going to go ahead and count it as a poem. Please ignore the lack of proper grammar as it was intended to be a rap, which requires it to be written at a 3rd grade writing level.

The world we live in is becomin confusin
arguin and accusin
arbitrary abusin
innocent people dyin
innocent mothers cryin
people judgin by color without even applyin
any context to their racial profilin
the angry world that surrounds me
does nothin but confuse and confound me
astound me
continues to surround me
till i cant even breathe
cause i hate what i see
pain and misery
disdain and trickory
hickory dickory
dock..the mouse runs up the clock
but the clock slowly stops
with each shot of a glock
with each body that drops
the world slowly endin
too late to start mendin
no need for pretendin
that if we say its all fine
we can trick our own mind
into believing the line
has yet to been crossed
that the world aint been lost
that society ain't been tossed
out the window
left to fall down below
left to fall down slow
slowly gettin closer to that hellish inferno..

Yeah I'm sayin society is going to hell
but well
can you really disagree with my synopsis
really think that there's a way to stop this?
this aint a normal problem cant just decide to drop this
wait a couple weeks then try and solve it again
cause a couple of weeks and it might already be the end
game over we lose
not enough time to extinguish the fuse
on the ticking time bomb under our shoes
don't listen to the news
there aint a single group to accuse
of the sins we've all commited
none of us can be acquitted
none of us can be omitted
from the list of perpatrators against the laws of right and wrong
the decay in society in our eyesight all along
if a single person feels as if they don't belong
then we aint tryin hard enough to make society strong..
